Our mission

Nevadaworks is committed to fostering dynamic Industry Sector Partnerships that drive economic growth and empower our communities. Our mission is to cultivate collaborative alliances between businesses, educational institutions, government agencies, and community organizations.

Through these partnerships, we aim to understand current and future industry needs, develop a skilled workforce, and promote sustainable employment opportunities across Nevada. By harnessing collective expertise and resources, we strive to build resilient industries, enhance workforce development strategies, and ensure long-term prosperity for all Nevadans.

What it means to be a sector partner

In an effort to stay competitive and profitable, business leaders in rapidly growing industries are constantly trying to solve a range of issues, including those relating to the local workforce, infrastructure and supply chain. Oftentimes, these issues are industry-wide and require connections with an array of government programs and education systems, which is a lot to take on for an individual company.

Being a sector partner within our workforce development network means being part of the solution, for your company and your industry. This includes attending quarterly Industry Sector Partnership meetings, which gives you the opportunity to discuss industry needs and work with public partners to create solutions.

Industry Sector Partnership meetings

Industry Sector Partnership meetings follow a nationally recognized model called Next Generation (Next Gen), which establishes industry-led, community-supported partnerships that strengthen regional economies and connect people to jobs.

Next Gen allows business leaders to openly discuss workforce challenges, while public partners listen in a strictly supportive role. Putting industry at the center allows business leaders to define and champion their own agenda.

This includes helping develop specific, actionable solutions with respect to hiring, upskilling and regional investments in workforce development for each sector.
