We’re building an employer-driven regional workforce training system for Northern Nevada.
Nevadaworks is Northern Nevada’s workforce development hub. Through our Good Jobs Northern Nevada program, we’re creating a skilled, diverse, continually evolving workforce to support four key Nevada industries — Manufacturing, Healthcare Services, Technology and Transportation/Logistics. Our goal is to place at least 650 workers into good jobs across these sectors.

Funding:
The Good Jobs Northern Nevada program is funded through a $14.9 million grant from the US Economic Development Administration.
Mission:
Our long-term goal is to develop next-generation regional sector partnerships with industry employers to address current and future workforce needs, economic development, and long-term economic resiliency.
The Good Jobs Northern Nevada Approach:
Solve problems and create value for both sides of the labor market, employers and job seekers
Cultivate long-term employer and industry relationships
Recruit a large number and wide variety of employers using a variety of channels, including professional associations, public workforce entities, chambers of commerce, labor-management training partnerships and economic development authorities
Approach employers with specific plans, opportunities and objectives
Engage employers in a range of activities from curriculum development and competency identification to student advising and placement, and policy advocacy
Have in-depth dialogues about specific needs and the strengths and weaknesses of development programs
Encourage employers to assume leadership roles in pathway development and develop effective partnerships
